After a winter of a jammed back, cluttered studio, I spent the weekend getting things in order so I could actually get back to work. AND THEN....just as I started this piece, my easel literally exploded. Springs went flying, top rail which holds my surface landed in pieces. So after rigging things back together, I painted this quick floral. Started with acrylic, applied pastel ground and then finished with pastel.

Loved looking at your paintings. Wish I could be there to see them in person.

Hi Marianne, did you ever quilt with Kaffe Fassett fabrics or those from part of his collective partners Philip Jacobs or Brandon Mably? Your Floral paintings are gorgeous and remind me of their fabrics. especially Kaffe and Phillip's.....btw, I love all your work! Wishing you much success with Open Studio this year! Hi to Ron...Hope new place is coming along.....

Chris, thanks for chiming in and your positive comments. No i never did quilt with those wonderfully colorful fabrics. The first weekend of open studio was a huge success. My guest artists and I had about 160+ visitors! One more weekend to go and then off to Sunriver to decompress for a few days.
